One of my colleagues says: It's rather too simple to assume that it's payer naughtiness that's the main problem. If you can't afford to do a piece of business under those terms, you need to renegotiate or walk away.
Make sure you know your obligations: Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
